There are no words to describe the depth of experience DJ gained in 16 years. Starting as a busboy, DJ immersed himself in the culinary arts and worked his way through the ranks to top-notch chef. After traveling to numerous restaurant concepts at Heart of America Group and growing with the company, DJ started as Executive Chef at Johnny’s Holiday Inn in West Des Moines. The restaurant business can be hectic and DJ knows that flexibility, understanding and working together as a team are key to meeting the needs of everyone. “It’s like being part of a family,” says DJ. He enjoys the innovative atmosphere of Johnny’s and his artistic talents impress every guest.
